Russell A. Flint's considerable business experience as owner and partner in general construction firms, together with his broad client base, have involved him in a wide variety of areas connected with the practice of law. Tax planning, however, remains his forte.


He was born in Edmonton in 1948, and attended the University of Alberta. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1971. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1972, and in 1989 he was appointed a member of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He is a certified Trust & Estate Planner and is entitled to the professional designation T.E.P.


Mr. Flint is a frequent speaker at tax seminars and provides instructional tax courses for Revenue Canada employees and other groups, particularly for members of the agricultural community. He is a member of the Tax Sub-Section of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He is also Snyder & Associates' registered trademark agent.


He served fourteen years on the board, and as president and vice-president, of the Wildrose Credit Union. For a number of years he was mayor and councillor of the Summer Village of Sandy Beach. He has also been a member of the board of directors of the Royal Glenora Club and the Winston Churchill Society. His avocational interests include farming, tennis, badminton and jogging. He and his wife Carol have two grown daughters, Jane and Mary, and he is now a proud grandpa.
